We are a small town company with small town values. We take great pride in what we do and it shows in our quality products and our commitment to customer service. We do not make thousands of cabinets a year or employ hundreds of people. Our goal is to do each project as though it was being built for our own use in our own home. We listen to our customers and try to incorporate their wants and needs into a finished product that will be here for generations.
We do all aspects of the process in house. We design, build, finish, and install all of our own products. You do not have to wait for it to be delivered from out of state or deal with a salesperson that has never built a kitchen in their life. We reinvest back into our community and BUY LOCAL anytime we can!
All of our products are constructed from locally harvested, sustainable hardwoods and compliant plywoods. We do not use any fiber boards or composit products such as particle board or medium density fiberboard (MDF) that can omit toxins into the air.
We also DO NOT USE DRYWALL SCREWS in any part of our building process!!!! We only use real wood dowels to assemble our face frames to ensure proper fit and long life.
Our face frames, doors, and drawer heads are all constructed of 3/4 " thick hardwoods to ensure a long lasting, solid product.
Our cabinet constructiion consists of 3/4" thick plywood sides, floors, and shelves to form a solid base for any type of counter top you choose.
For our finishes, we use only Sherwin Williams products for their exceptional reputation and quality. We are currently testing low and no VOC finishes to make sure that our products are as healthy for our enviroment as they are long lasting.
Whats Ahead
Our future is also looking bright. In August, 2009, we started work on a new heating system using the waste wood generated from the shop to heat the shop in the winter months. This will reduce the amount of waste going to a landfill and also reduce our reliance on natural gas. Using a wood burning stove, we have converted it to also heat water to dispurse heat evenly throughout the building in a radiant baseboard system. This allows us to distribute heat to all areas of the building without using forced air thus using less electricity and reducing our carbon footprint.
Our next step is to convert our shop to renewable energy. Starting in 2014, we have been applying for federal, state, and local grants and rebates to assist us in converting our shop to a combination of wind and solar power to help offset our power needs. We are currently researching three different packages that will help reduce our electric bill by 45-90%.
My long term goal is to move my business from being environmentally compliant to complete sustainability.
